Types of Permanent Markers

Permanent markers are very popular with students, workers and even in homes. Most people own at least one, as there are so many uses for this type of writing device. However, all permanent markers are not alike. There are many different colors, shapes and sizes. There are even different types of ink to choose from, depending on your needs and the writing surface.
Tip style
One of the main ways in which permanent markers vary is by tip style. Sharpie, the most popular permanent marker brands, is known for their medium to fine tip markers. Some extra-fine markers are good for writing longer documents. Large, chisel tip markers are perfect for posters and huge writing. You can turn them to the side and use the skinny side, too.
Types of ink
The ink in permanent markers varies from brand-to-brand. Read the label to get a sense of the nature of the ink. Some markers are water resistant but not rub resistant. These might work well on paper and cardboard, but if you want to write on plastic, you probably want rub-resistant ink.
Brands
Sharpie is notably the most popular brand to pick, but it is not the only one out there. If you like adventure, try Mr. Sketch permanent markers. These are scented cherry, grape and many more. BIC and Pentech also make high-quality, permanent markers.
Permanent markers are great for so many tasks. Pick a couple of kinds that you like, and start experimenting. You never know what kinds of cool markers you may find.
