Permanent Markers

I recently decorated a plain coffee mug with permanent markers and was wondering if there is a way to seal it?

  1. Most coffee mugs are made of ceramic so adding a glaze would seal your designs. The mugs would have to be hand washed and not scrubbed on the outside. What you need is a product called Perm Enamel glaze made for ceramic, glass and tile. You can find this in craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby.
  2. There's also a product called Porcelaine, applied with a brush, and then baked in your oven. It's a little more stable than Perm-enamel, but still needs to be hand washed.
