how do you remove permanent marker from a tag?

how do you remove permanent marker from a tag, or what should i use to remove it? I wrote initals on the tag of a t-shirt and i want to remove them, or fade them...what can i use to make it faded or to remove it? I tried nail polish remover and hairspray..didnt work. yes i know its permanent Eric, but theres still a way you can fade it.

3. I'd say bleach but you'd need to be very very careful, it would bleach the entire tag and possibly the shirt itself if you don't do it right. Your best bet would be to cut the tag off.
