Permanent Markers

·How permanent are permanent markers?

im soing a science fair project and i would like to do this topic. ·How permanent are permanent markers? What solvents (e.g., water, alcohol, vinegar, detergent solution) will remove the ink? Do different brands/types of markers produce the same results?

2. They are pretty permanent. I have a T-shirt with a mark on it, and detergents, bleach, and alcohol have no effect. vinegar? doubt it. a dozen or so washings may lighten it a bit, that's all.
