how can you do chemical chromatography with magic markers?
Public Comments
- Ohh this was a fun lab back in chemistry. What people do is they take a piece of paper, usually paper towel, and use the magic marker to dot a small dot on it. Then, you stick one edge of the piece of paper in the water, but not touching the marker dot, and the water will seep up the paper and when it hits the dot, the dot will separate into the fundamental colors that it was produced from. For example a green dot might separate into yellow and blue colors. It's actually really cool. It's actually not a "chemical" process, more like a method of separating a mixture. Hope this helps!!!
