Where did the term, "Magic" Markers come from?

My whole life, we've always called markers "Magic" Markers, and I have yet to see any markers that actually claim to be "magic".

6. a pen with a writing tip made of felt (trade name Magic Marker) they do have pens that when you write with them the ink disappears after a certain length of time --- magic markers --- use to play with those pens in the mid 1970's.
