Permanent Markers

How do permanent markers stay on dry erase mark board words?

I don't know how to say this but on a dry erase mark board it says dry erase mark board. The words on the board are white. How do I change the words to a different color. If I try it and works you will be chosen the best answer.

1. Are we to assume the board is not white (not a "whiteboard")? Permanent markers do not come off dry erase boards, only use dry erase markers on a dry erase board. If it is not permanent marker, you can just erase it and write whatever you want on the board. If it is permanent marker, you will have to use a surface cleaner, and possible elbow grease. It varies based on what kind of marker it was and some other factors.
