whats the difference between fabric and permanent markers? For a science project at school, i'm testing the quality of different fabric markers as well as seeing what causes them to fade. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference between fabric and permanent markers are?

I've decorated a hi-vis vest using fabric markers and permanent marker. How do I set the design? Also, how would I set a design created with fabric markers on a T-shirt? The hi-vis vest says it needs to be washed as synthetics and ironed on a cool level. The T-shirt is some cotton-type material, kinda stretchy. What about if I used fabric paints? What would I do then?
